Østensjø Rederi AS has been awarded a contract by ConocoPhillips Ireland to provide tug operation services at the Bantry Bay Terminal in Ireland. The operation will be carried out by T/B Thrax which is an advanced azimuth stern drive tug of 62 t Bollard Pull. The contract period is one year with options as from 1st November 2009.
Lee Towage Limited - a subsidiary of Østensjø Rederi AS - has since 1997 conducted towage duties at the ConocoPhillips Whitegate Refinery by employing the T/B Alex and with the new contract Lee Towage Limited has extended their services to ConocoPhillips in Ireland.
The the 62 t Bollard Pull tug will be based at Bantry Bay and will be available for third party work when the ConocoPhillips work allows for it. Enquiries should be directed to the Østensjø Chartering desk.
