Mrs. Nicola Gordon, Asset Leader AS Norske Shell named Østensjø Rederi's newbuilding no. 40
The tug Vivax was named in Molde 13th June 2009 by Lady Sponsor Mrs. Nicola Gordon, Asset Leader AS Norske Shell.
Vivax was delivered from Sanmar, Turkey - 4th November 2008. The tug "Vivax" is a Robert Allan design with a bollard pull of 80 tons, and can manage a speed of 14,6 knots.
Vivax has a contract with AS Norske Shell for a period of 7 years firm + options and is currently in operation at the Nyhamna Terminal. The Operation consists of berthing and unberthing as well as escort both on arrival and departure of the tankers. In addition Østensjø Rederi is carrying out the mooring operation by means of line handling boats and line handling men.
Vivax is the new building no. 40 since the first vessel ("Edda Sprite"), was delivered to the company in 1975.
