Edda Freya was converted from Platform Supply Vessel to a Multi Purpose Supply Vessel (MPSV) in 2000. The modifications included ROV-hangar, Accommodation-/office module, 40 ton Offshore crane and Helicopter deck. All mentioned equipment are bolt on/off basis and can easily be demobilized to bring the vessel back to PSV mode.

Edda Fjord was delivered in 2002 and is designed based on the experiences with Edda Freya and with the same design philosophy in mind. Both vessel are operating with a large free deck without any obstructions when operating in PSV mode. Both vessel have switched between PSV- and MPSV mode several times proving the flexibility of the concept.
