GENERAL STATEMENT OF POLICY
Østensjø Rederi AS is a top quality provider of waterborne services to Oil and Gas Terminals and customized vessels to offshore Oil and Gas Production world wide.
The Company aims to achieve and maintain the highest possible standard of quality in all its activities. The Company's goal is to operate a modern fleet of offshore vessels and tugs with the highest level of safety for personnel, for the environment and for assets and financial interest. Responsibility is also accepted to the safety of others affected by the Company's activities and the integrity of their environment. The Company requires all its employees to share this commitment in achieving high standards of quality.
OBJECTIVES
The detailed objectives of the Company Policy are as follows:
- To prevent any damages or injuries at the workplaces.
- To prevent damage of the environment caused by the Company's activities by continuos monitoring and improving the environmental goals defined by the management.
- To provide a safe and healthy working conditions and a similar standard of amenity in general in the Company's activities.
- To establish and maintain safe and environmental sound working procedures and practices in all company operations.
- To comply with all relevant rules and regulations concerning safety and the maintenance of environmental integrity in all operations.
- To prevent damage on equipment that led to lost operation time.
- To operate a modern fleet, and maintain all ships and equipment in accordance with the requirements of the Company, charters and relevant regulatory bodies.
- To have a organization with highly qualified personnel, both ashore and on board.
- To provide all employees the necessary training and management support to enable them to carry out their duties in accordance with the terms of this policy.
- To operate a certified Safety & Quality Management (S&QMS) system in accordance with the ISM code and NS-EN ISO 14001 to ensure that the objectives are met.
The Company shall on annually basis make a Health, Safety & Environment Plan. This Plan will include specific Company objectives and targets in the areas of health, safety and environment. This Plan is applicable for all company vessels.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK AND PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT (H,S&E).
- The ultimate responsibility for H,S&E in the Company rests with the Managing Director.
- The Managing Director is responsible for the Company Policy being prepared and up-dated and for providing the resources and developing the organisation to put that policy into effect.
- The Fleet Manager is responsible for the Company Policy being implemented and complied with in the Company's activities. This includes the safe and efficient operation of the vessels.
- The Personnel manager is responsible for the Company Policy being implemented and complied with in the manning of all vessels. This includes the qualification of all personnel.
- The Safety & Quality Manager is responsible for the Company Safety & Quality Management System being prepared, implemented and maintained in accordance with this policy and for the monitoring of H,S&E aspects in the Company.
- The Master has the overall responsibility for H,S&E on board.
In addition to the detailed responsibilities already noted herein, all personnel have the following legal obligations:
- To take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected of their actions.
- To cooperate with their employer, the vessel's owners or Charterer on all matters concerning H,S&E or with anyone else holding these responsibilities.
- Not to interfere with or misuse anything provided for the benefit of H,S&E.
- To observe the Company Policy, which is the leading document in all Company activities.
This policy has been prepared for the mutual benefit of all employers in the Company. Whilst management hold the ultimate responsibility, only careful attention to these measures and good teamwork by all employers will ensure that the objectives in the policy are met.
This Policy is to be posted on board.
