Protection of the environment is one of the main objectives of the Company's Policy.

To reach this target, the management of the vessels are working according to legislation and internal instructions. The focus are on both protection of the local and the global environment.

Environmental targets

One of the main targets for 2006 is to further develop the Environment Management system and be certified according to ISO 14001. This process is in the pipeline.

The significant environmental aspects of our operation are defined. Based on these the following environmental goals has been chosen for 2006:

• Reduce the use of paper in the company office by 20 % compared with 2004 and 2005.
• Reduce the use of electrical power in the company office by 10 % compared with 2004 and 2005.
• Reduce the total fuel oil consumption in the company by 2% in 2006 compared with 2005 and 2004.
• Reduce the consumption of chemicals and washing liquids by 10 % in 2006 compared with 2005 and 2004.
• Reduce the consumption of paint by 5 % in 2006 compared with 2005 and 2004 and to increase the use of environmentally friendly paint by 10 %.
